I swear it hadn't even been 24 hours after the VT shooting before Jack Thompson was running his mouth about video game violence. The man needs an X-box controller shoved down his throat, s'all I'm sayin'. Cause seriously, the shooter? Mentally unstable. And unstable is unstable regardless of social influences.

So says me and my soapbox, so nyeh.

Oh and... there's a tiny little cameo from another webcomic in here. It's a black-and-white comic so the colors might be wrong (I just guessed) ... SPOT IT. :)

EDITED TO NOTE: No, the cameo is not from Penny Arcade or Megatokyo.

Also, I'm aware of the typo in the first panel, I'll fix it when I have time. :)

EDIT 2: The cameo has been guessed! The waitress in the third panel is Heather from Punch an' Pie :)

I remember reading that he was in outpatient therapy, with the notice that said he was no longer a danger to himself OR society. >.>

I know not of the cameo, but I did hear about what was said about the shooting. It's amazing how quickly he was able to turn such an event into a chance to make games look bad.

In truth, there's not much that I want to say in the sense of calling him names. In my opinion, it would degrade the item, place, or person even more so by actually putting it on the same level as Jack Thompson. Kind of like how, in some cases, calling someone a bitch would actually be an insult to bitches everywhere.

Anyway, quite a nice piece of work, as you always have such an interesting and insightful message in what you do. Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Love the comic. I rarely comment on them, but this topic is really one that gets me. I love your take on it: hyperbole is fantastic. ^_^

It disturbs me that I wrote my final essay in College Writing about how video games do not cause people to commit violent acts less than a week before the incident at VT. Strange coincidence, in my opinion.

I agree Disturbed is Disturbed, and it's caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, not playing the 'wrong' games! (tell me, what's this guys opinion on the the average news broadcast?)

However, I will admit to occasionally bopping air-con units with my head in the hopes of striking it rich, or maybe finding a nice big mushroom...

Yes, Jack Thompson is but a moron. If everything he says was true, I would, for instance, always drive the nearest possible when passing other cars (see Need For Speed Underground). :roll:
