I had NO idea what catagory to put this in for about, five seconds.
When I was in BCT (you know, "back in the day") my platoon's name was Grim Reapers. I guess that's why I drew this... that or just for shits and giggles. And the blue fire shit there, bugs me. But hey, focus on the happy little guy there! Isn't he happy?!
Did you wind up being the unit's "Art Slave"? I know I did when I was in the Army...
Funny thing... The CO allowed us to put a bit of "nose art" on our helicopters... and had a contest. I was the artist on the first, second and third place pieces. Came out of it with $50, half a case of beer, and a special commendation letter.
I also painted an image of Garfield on one of the helos later on... which caused the thing to immediately take up the personality of that lazy cat! So the crew chief finally got tired of the aircraft breaking all the time... and painted over the image with OD Green spray paint... the thing worked great after that! Superstitious bunch in aviation!

*LOL* Oh yeah, I was definitely the art slave. I'll probably scan the photos I took of the doors I painted. They turned out well XD And I drew the BRM board, T-shirt... great fun.
Oooooo..... fantastic drawing! I love the expression, how you did the eyes and the robes are very well done! (The fire is actually a nice touch in my opinion, so there)
