This is one thing that's always driven me crazy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer... vampires are dead. Which, as they point out SEVERAL times, means they can't breathe. But they keep showing them smoking and stuff! INHALING AND EXHALING. And in the seventh season when Spike was being tortured they kept sticking his head underwater. WHAT GOOD WOULD THAT DO. What is he gonna do, DROWN? NO. NO HE WON'T.

There are other issues about vampires that are wonderfully inconsistant but this one just annoys me the most. Or amuses me. Funnily enough, that's a thin line for me...

(The vampire in the comic is a badly done Spike. The random chick is, of course, me)

(Note: Don't mistake me. I love Buffy *hee, Joss...* ^_^)

From what I remember, they in fact said that they don't have to breathe. But they can. I remember in one episode of either Buffy or Angel, Angel had to go into this room that was filled with smoke to rescue someone and he had to hold his breath for some reason. Those bits do bug me, but in Spike's case I think it is actually possible for him to breathe. Just not necessary.

Wow, that comment was a lot longer than it needed to be o__O' Still, funny comic XD

Lol! I remember this too. XD

But... being the geek I am... in Soul Reaver there was a rule Vampires can't touch water. It just rapes them. Maybe that's what the water thing was with Spike?

yeah that always confused me... but glad I wasn't the only one to notice. I wonder how vampires get high off drugs if they have no or extremely low circulation as well.

But if they CAN breathe, then Angel should've been able to give CPR to Buffy in the second season rather than telling Xander "You have to do it. I can't breathe." XD
