No turning back, no backing out No where to run, no silent ground No place to hide, no one to trust No one to help you when you're lost There's only us It's all in your hands Hold back the darkness Gotta take a stand It's all in your hands
This is absolutely wonderful. I happen to be very, very curious on the subject of a possible intention of Marco and Rachel pairings - in #14, "The Unknown", Marco pretends to be Fox Mulder, while Rachel calls herself "Dana Scully" - and those two are somewhat a pair from the X-Files. Also, Nice Rachel says in book #32 (I think), "The Separation", that she would date Marco. And, in the Megamorphs, she agrees to date him! All of this, to me, is evidence that they could have been a seriously adorable couple.
In any case, that whole rant was entirely pointless. What I meant to say was simply that this is lovely; I think it captures both Rachel and Marco in their pose, expression and, in Rachel's case, their dialogue. Perfect.
Those are my favorite human characters in "Animorphs," too! I liked how Marco was this comical hooligan, and Rachel was the dark and silent type, yet they still end up as a sort of psuedo-couple! Brilliant portrayal you have here.
I'm pretty sure Marco's about a head shorter than Rachel. She always made fun of him because of it. But I could totally imagine this happening. Then five seconds later Marco would have an enraged red-tailed hawk gouging his eyes out.
